For the next SXP we're waiting for Microsoft to finish up their EOL June patches/updates for XP, which will not be long. We then have to test the new release for a while (one week, at the least) and around mid July we should have the next SXP64 together with the new LiteSXP64 in the public domain (p2p).

We're certain we can add more XP x64 drivers to the OS, so if you have links to them, we might include them. Also, if you have special wishes for things to leave OUT in LiteSXP64, to remove/exclude, please feel free to mention them. We ourselves work with/using LiteSXP64 most of the time, since we don't need the added keyboards/languages.

The full SXP64 as linked in this blog has full MUI support. LiteSXP64 does not.

SXP64 is great, but for some reason I can't install VMWare 6.5, when it gets to updating the registry it error's out saying that it can't be written too. Is the registry somehow protected in the superior releases? Also can you give us the Admin password, we might need that later on.

Futasec-e said...

@above,

The password of the last release = april2009.

did you rtfm? :)

Darkonus said...

Sorry rtfm?

Ok I figured out what the problem is, when I do Run As, the option to run in protected mode was checked, unchecked that and everything installed fine.

Hi,

have you heard of eXperience tinyxp and microXP, tinyVista and Tiny2003?

They've been begged for a 64-bit versio but their reply was nlite doesnt support it.

can you come out w/ a version similar to tinyxp and microxp?

Your Superior said...

nLite supports XP x64 quite well.
And we happen to see our latest release as being Superior to the Tiny* releases, because it is both stripped of more, as well as including more of what can't be moved out. Also, did you ever read the description, especially the Thanks list?

Any chance for "out of the box" support for MTP (Media Transfer Protocol)?

Your Superior said...

Who uses IIS ? Try Apache for Windows. Much better in sooooo many ways.

Does anyone else have an issue using the quotation mark on a US keyboard? I have to hit it twice in order for it to be displayed and it displayed two at the same time.

Anonymous said...

It turns out a change to the Language settings will result with accurate behavior of a US Keyboard. Go to the regeional settings in control panel and set everyhting to US. On the Lanugages page hit "Details" and then Remove the UK keyboard from the list leaving only the US Keyboard. This fixed the issue I had with Quotation marks.

folks,
superior 64, or a 64bit OS, is not for you if you are a below average computer user.

This is not a support forum.

@Your Superior,
Is there any ETA on the pending release?

FlyingTiger said...

Dapxin says, "This is not a support forum."

So is there one for "below average computer users" who would like to try out 64 bit computing to ask dumb questions?

Dapxin said...

try http://forums.techguy.org/

XP and XP x64 is the same for 99% of issues. So you should get answers out there.

I can only say THE BEST Edition! Thanks so much for this edition it runs fast as hell, doesn't use much ram... Very nice indeed.

But there's 1 problem that I found. I can't find a Hibernation tab in power supply or anywer else. I thought google would have some nice answers but unfortunately non of them helped me. So i'm asking you guys, Superior how to enable Hibernation in this OS.

Have a nice day!

Installed this a week or so back.
I am so impressed, my system really flies now!

What is the situation regarding 'WGA' do I need to block any updates?

My thanks go out to the guys who have created this.....so much leaner than Standard MS releases.
Thanks Guys!

First and foremost, thanks for awesome release of xp x64! The OS is lean, brisk, and very responsive! All the tweaks that you have done are great and xp should've been shipped like that from the start(half open connection, disabling indexing, and abunch of other great stuff that I appreciate on there)!

Secondly I did have a question about the default desktop wallpapers. They're very nice, but where are they located so I can delete one of them? haha...the 'lotsofladies' desktop wallpaper will start a lot of trouble with my gf. ;) I looked at the "My picture" folders for all accounts, plus I did a file search and I still could not find it.

Thanks again Superior, salute!

I was in love with this install until it came time to repair a system file which became corrupted. Just remember that if you have to check any system file you have to do it manually. SFC won't work and worse yet if you ever use an uninstaller to remove and reinstall Directx you are going to find you are completely up the creek. I have to reinstall completely because of this. Frankly I hate the way it replaces your notepad with this piece of crap. I prefer the simplicity of the standard notepad or better yet notepad ++. The defrag sucks as well. I think making some of these things optional would have been nice. Over a year I've run into all kinds of little problems due in part to the tweaks implemented in this version. I use my machine for everything and I think Microsoft was deliberately conservative on timings.

Great Job!!
It simply reduced 70% of time and effort for installing, and works PERFECT even when installing from USB where many other personalized XP fail.
The only thing i miss is new LSI SAS controller drivers but took only 5 min. to integrate with nLite, i suggest them for next edition since Dell SAS computers mostly use LSI chipset, here you can find perc5/6 drv:
http://www.lsi.com/lookup/License.aspx?url=http://www.lsi.com/DistributionSystem/AssetDocument/LSImpt_SAS_XP_P18_13102.zip&prodName=LSISAS1068&subType=Driver&locale=EN

AGAIN CONGRATULATIONS AND KEEP THE GREAT MOOD ;-))

I've had this OS installed for almost a year now. This the best I've ever had. I'm using an aging HP Tx1000 Tablet. but for the sake of the swiftness of the OS, I'm willing to lose some of the functions. It's incredibly stable. I've installed and uninstalled tons of appz and had a BSOD only once. My registry is getting clogged at last and I'm going to format. but I'll keep the SXP until he makes a 64bit Windows 7 version.
This is really virtual gold.

any updates? where is superior windows 7 x64!!!!

homervp said...

Hey, this version is superior to anything I have seen, but I have a problem. 2 years ago I installed it on my pc, but a week ago my antivirus messed up for the 1st time, making my system FUBAR, I can't even boot it. I know which file is infected, and I intend to replace it: the plan is (I am now running a second installation of winXp pro 64) I wanna run this version on VMware and replace the infected files with those from the VM. Problem: for some reason,
a) instead of the white letters I used to see on startup of my infected installation, I saw the proper windows logo etc. don't know it this is supposed to happen, but I never saw it on this version..
b) It asks for password (!?) and no password worked.. any ideas?
also, can you PM me if there is no direct answer? I don't like using comments for conversations, and don't know blogspot too well..
